The exhibition “Pankiewicz and after… release of colour” is correlating with one
hundred fiftieth anniversary of the Józef Pankiewicz’s birth in Lublin. It presents the different periods of the artists’ creations through the selected works.
However foremost is conceived as reading of artist’s inheritance creative by the differentiated reception of his creative achievements. The aim of the exhibition is the show a various character of interpretation of colourful inheritance through modern artists (m.in. Leon Tarasewicz, Tomasz Ciecierski, Jacek Sempoliński, Mirosław Filonik, Jarosław Fliciński, Tomasz Zawadzki).
The exhibition is showing the permanence of coloristic tendency in Polish art, as well as the differentiated sphere of the references and reinterpretation. It conceived is therefore, out of sequence, as an attempt of understanding of Polish colorism and his value from the perspective of the contemporaneousness.
